Juniper and I are reading Amelia Bedelia's First Day of School. The very last line claims that Amelia Bedelia is very excited to return to school the next day. we've read this book every day for the last week, but today Juniper is finally skeptical.
me, finishing: "Amelia Bedelia can't wait to go to school tomorrow."
Juniper: "but she never will."
me: "why not?"
Juniper: "because tomorrow when we read this book she'll it will be her first day of school again."
update: today we read it again, and she said, "how bout let's call it Amelia Bedelia's Second Day of School today?" and thus Amelia Bedelia was rescued from her sisyphean existence, at least in Juniper's world.
Very deep.
ReplyDeleteBut honestly how can you read that book every day for a week?!? We have Amelia Bedelia's First field trip and we had to put a stop to reading it daily because we were tired of reading all the figures of speech. You're very patient!
Love it!
