And here is some background on the current version of this website:
On April 27th, 2001, I wrote my very first blog post. Of course, at the time I didn't know it was a blog post. Blogging was only just beginning, and for many years in San Francisco I participated in the blogging community in all its glory, drama, scandal and fun. What interests me now about that first post, almost twelve years later, is this paragraph:
"why do we always separate what we do day to day from what we think we should be doing creatively? a friend said this once, which I loved: "creativity isn't a something you do. it's a how you do something. how you do everything."
Twelve years ago I was thinking about how to write creatively and how to live creatively; twelve years later I am still wrestling with those same questions. The answers have changed, though.
These days my creative focus is on writing novels and finding an agent and, some day, an editor and publisher. To that end, this website is evolving once again as it has so many times in the past: into an informational site about my work as an author. I'll still be blogging about topics both personal and professional, but the main focus will be on the writing. But, in some ways, it always has been.
Thanks for stopping by. And feel free to reach out--you can reach me through the comments section of almost every page and/or find my email address listed on my SCBWI profile.
